The funeral service was held in Budleigh Salterton, at Temple Methodist Church a small local church near Rob's home at Estuary View. The time of the service on Monday, 20th August 2018, was at 1:30 in the afternoon. His body was looked after by Palmers Funeralcare of 45 High Street, Budleigh Salterton, Devon EX9 6LE. The Reverend Mr Steve Santry, Police Superintendent Minister, led the service with his opening words and Reverend Canon Merv McKinney, Rob's brother-in-law, gave the Reading from the Holy Bible-Mark, Chapter 4: verses 35-41. The Eulogy and Reflection was given by Reverend Steve Santry, Police Superintendent Minister, followed by a recital of Lord Tennyson's  poem, The Bar, read by Barbara Marshall, a cousin of Rob's. Commendation and prayers at the end were by  Reverend Canon Merv McKinney, Rob's  wife's brother-in-law. Hymns sung were Eternal Father, Strong To Save, and The Day Thou Gavest, Lord, Is Ended.
