As a Police  Inspector at the City of London Police, and with qualifications of LLB and LLM 'under his belt' Rob Jerrard was sent to head the Legal Department at the Police Instructor Training Unit near Harrogate for a few years-then he returned to his job as Police Inspector at the City of London Police. Rob Jerrard also undertook the editorship of The Digest for a period of three years. The Digest is a monthly series of over 70 pages per issue and includes all the law police officers need to be aware of- new statutes, public government consultations, recent outcomes of UK criminal cases and so on.

After both  Rob and Rosemary retired, they moved to settle in a small cottage in Budleigh Salterton in Devon.

Rob and Rosemary Jerrard resided from that time to today in the lovely seaside town of Budleigh Salterton and they partook of community activities. Rob Jerrard kept busy mostly on his computer and also assisted Rosemary in the garden, as well as enjoying his hobby. They did almost everything together and enjoyed simple pleasures such as tea in a local teashop.

After moving to Budleigh Salterton in Devon, Rob kept an honorary position of Book Editor for the Police Journal, owned until a few years ago by Vathek. The Police Journal is now owned by SAGE Publishers.

May you rest in peace now Rob. You deserve to be in heaven.
